Honey Kiss of the Tropics

What is Achacha?

Achacha (ah-cha-CHA) — full name Achachairu, meaning “honey kiss” in the indigenous Guaraní language of Bolivia. One taste tells you exactly why.

A small, vibrant orange fruit with a thin shell that pops open to reveal juicy, translucent white pulp. Related to the mangosteen but with about half the sugar, Achacha delivers a unique balance of sweet and tart with a silky, sorbet-like finish. Egg-shaped with a burnt-orange skin, the white pulp inside is juicy, clean, and refreshing.

Native to the Bolivian Amazon, Achacha thrives in subtropical climates. Bass Regenerative Farms is America’s largest commercial Achacha operation, cultivating it at scale in Homestead, FL — making it available fresh to customers across the state and beyond.

No tools required — just two easy steps.

Step 1: Pierce the Achacha skin with your thumbnail
Step 3: Pop the Achacha open by squeezing each side of the fruit

Best kept unrefrigerated!

Store in a closed bag or box at room temperature (above 50°F) — keeps for weeks. Only chill a few hours before eating, or freeze in the skin for long-term storage.

Don’t toss that seed!

The Achacha seed can be planted. If you live in a warm climate (USDA zones 10–12), try growing your own Achacha tree.
